Greater Anglia not amused by prank stickers

Greater Anglia not amused by prank stickers Greater Anglia not amused by prank stickers

PRANK stickers designed to look like official warning notices are appearing on Greater Anglia trains.

The humorous transfers have been spotted on services between Ipswich and London.

In one instance, a sticker in the train toilets read: “Press handle downwards to flush. Do not use in stations, except in Ipswich”.

Another urges passengers to pull the emergency lever, claiming that it pours gravy on the driver’s sausages.

The train operator is warning passengers that anyone spotted putting up the stickers could be fined.

Full story in the Gazette.

I saw these stickers for sale in one of the well known national gardens. We should be grateful people are occupying themselves putting stickers up, instead of putting graffiti on the ones already there.

Naturally, the operator can´t go out and say stick away to your heart´s content, but these have been around on the Tube for a while, and they can be really funny.

I notice that they are starting to go a bit "mainstream" (having an article in the Mail about it is as mainstream as you can get). I hope that people keep it creative and humorous. The whole thing is that you have to do a bit of a double-take because they look like real signs. They bring a smile to people´s faces, and that´s no mean feat on the Tube.

If the Gazette is having to fill its columns with this type of
Nonsense story, then it is getting like our Government past its sell by date. If some lunatic wishes to waste his /her money and time making and posting these idiotic signs then so, be it.
It is the responsibility of the company who is having its property defaced who should be doing something about it. Publicity will only give the perpetrators some recognition and that will encourage them to carry on.

The columns of the gazette should be being filled with more enterprising news,
Like when are the roads a walkways going to repaired, then keep the pressure up until some positive action is taken.

Did not wish to offend anyone I know the “DANDY COMIC” is coming to an end. Nevertheless, I prefer papers to have cartoon strips rather than fill their columns with useless information.

Sorry if you consider the truth to be an insult I was just stating a fact!
I have accepted your comments wholly. Yet I did not consider you’re insulting. We both have our own views of what local newspapers should print. I trust that you will hopefully have more of these amusing uneventful columns professing news.

You're stating a fact !!! I thought we lived in a country with democracy. Meaning equality. This could also be taken as reporting on good and bad news, funny and serious news etc...

While you may not enjoy a light hearted story, others do. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, which you have expressed yours. It doesn't mean that you are right or wrong.

As you've suggested anyone wanting light hearted/joke stories should read a comic. Perhaps you won't mind when I suggest that instead of reading local papers, you should try reading a dictionary or maybe an encyclopdia. That is pretty serious stuff.

P.S If you start with the dictionary, may I suggest you look up Sense of Humour.

Look it up online on the Oxford dictionary.
One of the definitions : the practice or principles of social equality:
