Traders, representatives from the police and councillors all came together for an event promoting the best of Witham business.

A trade fair, organised by Witham Industrial Watch (WIW), took place on the Freebournes Road Industrial Estate on Thursday.

All 35 available spots for exhibitors were booked well in advance, and more than 100 visitors came through the doors during the course of the day.

The fair was opened by Braintree Council leader Graham Butland and was also attended by Essex Police’s crime reduction officer Stephen Armson-Smith.

David Cocker, WIW estate manager, said: “The trade fair was very successful. A lot of hard work was put in and it was well rewarded.

“We absolutely think this will have a good impact on the town and it is something we want to do again next year.”
