Witham: Guide wins award for achievements

Guides have won awards for their contribution to the community.
Abby Fowler, 12, was nominated for the Jack Petchey Achievement Award by members of 1st Hatfield Peverel Guides for running a fete to raise £200 for Cancer Research UK.
The schoolgirl, of Spring Lane, Hatfield Peverel, won £200 for the group, which has been spent on new tents.
Awards were handed out to 56 young people from Guiding Essex North East on Monday.
