Braintree: Council can't help man forced to sleep rough
A former labourer is sleeping on the streets because Braintree Council has nowhere to house him after he was made homeless.
Housing officers have been unable to find accommodation for Matthew Gettins, after he was forced to leave his Rayne Road flat two weeks ago following a dispute with his landlord.
Mr Gettins, 25, who suffers from a serious joint defect claims tramping the streets is making his condition worse.
His doctor wrote to the council last Wednesday urging officers to find him a place to stay.
However he is still sleeping in doorways and on park benches because nothing is available.
Braintree Council does not have a duty to house single non priority homeless people.

Although, you need to find yourself a teenage girlfriend and get her pregnant, that way you'll be guaranteed to get a nice new build 3 bedroom house, with a nice garden and all the benefits you want. Neither of you will have to work again, ever.

Perhaps he's a criminal liability or the 'landlord dispute' mentioned above is just one of those with which he has cohabited?
Either way, if he saved his dollar rather than spending it on booze or tattoos perhaps he could've housed himself?
Just a suggestion ....
