POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a car failed to stop following a crash on the A12. 

The accident happened at around 7.50am on Monday after a silver Vauxhall Corsa, a red Ford Mondeo and a red Audi RS5 Quattro were in collision near junction 22 for Witham. 

The driver of the Vauxhall, a 45-year-old woman, was taken to Broomfield Hospital. 

She suffered minor whiplash to her ribs and back. 

It is believed a black saloon, similar to a Ford Mondeo was also involved, but failed to stop.

Police are appealing for witnesses to contact Pc Andy Fitch at Stanway Traffic on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
