Braintree: Four injured in serious collision involving HGV Braintree: Four injured in serious collision involving HGV

The emergency services are at the scene of a multiple vehicle collision in which four people, including a young baby, were injured. 

Crews were called to Coggeshall Road in Coggeshall at about 2.20pm. 

They remain at the scene. 

An ambulance spokesman said a 38-year-old suffered chest and head injuries, an 11-year-old suffered leg injuries, a 67-year-old suffered chest pains, and a baby are understood to be hurt. 

East of England Ambulance Service (EEAST) crews were alerted to a report of several vehicles including a HGV along the Coggeshall Road towards Braintree, outside Stockstreet Farm at 2.21pm.

The Ambulance spokesman Gary Sanderson added: “The initial 999 calls stated that there are four casualties involved.”

“The Essex Air Ambulance has been dispatched to the scene to assist their land colleagues treat the casualties.”
 

The air ambulance is understood to be landing. 

Four fire crews are working to free two casualties who are trapped.
