A young actor is hoping to follow in his great uncle’s footsteps and star in a James Bond film.

Ritchi Edwards, 22, of Hay Lane, Braintree, first learnt he was related to a Bond villain as he watched On Her Majesty’s Secret Service and his father told him it was his great uncle Terence Mountain in the famous beach fight scene.

The former Alec Hunter pupil, who is currently working on an independent film A Brotherhood, hopes he too will one day star in the Bond movies - although he has set his sights on playing her majesty’s most famous agent.

He said: “My great uncle showed me the choreography of the acting and the way he did it he absolutely is a professional.

“He was giving me acting tips.

“He has been all over the place and does all the Bond conventions.”

The famous film franchise celebrated its 50th anniversary last week and looks set to continue its success with the latest film Skyfall due out on October 26.
