Braintree: Flats planned for former Blandford House surgery Braintree: Flats planned for former Blandford House surgery

Proposals to convert a former doctor's surgery into flats have been submitted.

Developer Grahams Building Services has applied to turn Blandford House, in London Road, Braintree, into ten flats.

The building was previously a doctor's surgery until the practice relocated to a purpose-built site in Mace Avenue in August 2008.

A planning application, submitted last week, also involves the building of four homes in the grounds of the house and the creation of a car park.

The exterior of the original 18th century Grade II listed building will be maintained, but a 1960s extension, which was used as a nursery, is set to be demolished.

More pokey small houses for Braintree again I presume? Braintree Council, if you give the go ahead (which you will) please tell the planners they can have permission to build houses with at least 60 foot gardens and enough room to park off road at least 2 cars.....bet the builders would run a mile......does anyone care about Braintree anymore????
