Police are appealing for witnesses after a driver was seen travelling dangerously with a tyre missing from their car.

The blue Toyota Hilux was allegedly seen on the A12 at Kelvedon, before being driven through Feering and then on to Coggeshall and Earls Colne at about 3.20am this morning.

The offside front tyre was reported to be missing which police said may have accounted for the driver's apparent lack of control of the car.

Other vehicles are said to have had to take action to avoid colliding with the car.

Anyone with information is urged to call Pc Alex Black at the Stanway road policing unit on 101.
