The air ambulance was called after an accident involving an 11-year-old boy.

The boy is believed to have suffered a head injury after he fell off a skate ramp at arounf 4pm today.

Residents watched from their homes as the helicopter landed at the skate park at Meadowside in Braintree.

An ambulance service spokesman said: “We were called to reports of a fall in a skate park in Currants Farm Road at 4.07pm.

“A male believed to be 11-years-old had fallen off a skate ramp and suffered a head injury “The East Anglian Air Ambulance, a land ambulance and a rapid response were sent.”
