Nearly 100 villagers turned out to see plans for a new community hall.

The Cressing Community Hall Fund was given cash from Essex County Council’s Big Society Fund 2012 to carry out a feasibility study for the hall in Jeffreys Road playing fields.

Residents had a chance to see initial plans for the building, which is hoped will replace the current pavilion, and give ideas about what activities they want to see held there.

County councillor Nigel Edey also presented a plaque to mark the Big Society Fund contribution, which paid for structural surveys, appointing architects and surveyors and the public consultation.
