Children were joined by a guest of their choice at a healthy lunch organised by their primary school.

The Year One pupils at John Ray Infant School were given the chance to invite a family member to join them for a hot school meal.

Catherine Rushen, school business manager, said: “We provide a nutritionally balanced menu so that children don’t get bored and we try to tempt pupils into trying foods that they may not have experienced before.

“We have a number of new pupils in the Foundation Stage who we have not fed before so it is really important to engage with our parents.”
