Witham: Sixth-form numbers reach a new high
A joint sixth form venture between two academies is being hailed a success after a record number of students joined.
Despite a falling number of total applications, 360 teenagers have enrolled across Witham’s two academy schools.
The rise in students is put down to high success rates in this year’s GCSE exams.
Maltings Academy, in Spinks Lane, enrolled 220 new sixth-formers last month, while New Rickstones Academy, in Conrad Road, enrolled 140 students.
