Witham: Town councillor slams dangerous dog case "waste"
The case against a town councillor who was accused of allowing a Jack Russell to be dangerously out of control and bite a PCSO has been dropped.
Paul Ryland, 70, denied letting the 13-year-old dog Wesley bite police community support officer Jenny Adams’s hand at his WitLet estate agents, in Guithavon Street, Witham, on April 25.
He opted for a crown court trial- which could have cost taxpayers and himself thousands of pounds- but the charges were dropped before it reached that stage.
The councillor said being taken to court was a “terrible waste of money.”
