Witham: Lack of support for Indi card
The launch of a discount shopping scheme in Witham has been postponed due to lack of businesses taking part.
Only two businesses have signed up to the Indi Card, which offers shoppers discounts and offers in a bid to boost business, was due to be handed out in the town at a stall in The Grove Centre on Friday.
Braintree Council, which is running the scheme, postponed the event due to staff sickness and lack of take up.
Hayley Rushen, of Belson and Sons Optometrists, was surprised to hear other businesses were not taking part.
She said: “We are taking part to bring in new business and promote offers.

Maybe us Witham folk are not the idiots the Council take us for .
You only have to see what offers the Braintree Traders advertise. OK if you want two eye tests or a full body tan
What use is this to a working class family.
Until we get some offers from the likes of every day items it will be doomed.
