The footbridge being lifted into place
A footbridge has been put in place.
Residents in Reed Meadows, Braintree, have faced building work and metal fences on their doorsteps for several months.
The footbridge, which will link the Heathlands estate to Freeport shopping village and station, was lifted into place in the early hours of Sunday.
It had been due to open next month but this is now expected to be in early December.
