Final farewell to caring Jay
FRIENDS and family of murdered teenager Jay Whiston wore yellow to his funeral to say their final farewell.
Tributes were paid to the 17-year-old from Aster Close, Clacton at the service on Thursday, September 27.
More than 300 people turned out to see Jay’s blue Cookie Monster coffin arrive at Weeley Crematorium by a black horse-drawn carriage.
Many of those wore flowers, scarves and ribbons that were yellow – Jay’s favourite colour.
The Tendring Technology College student was killed outside a party in Marlowe Way, Colchester, on September 8.
Five teenagers arrested on suspicion of his murder have been bailed without charge until October 27.
