Affordable housing will be built on an empty plot of land in Feering.

Braintree Council cabinet members agreed on Monday to transfer the council-owned land adjacent to Hanover Square to Greenfields Community Housing.

It is hoped that two homes will be built on the parcel of land, which is a 0.06 hectare space, subject to scrutiny under the usual planning process.

Affordable housing, lets hope the houses go to residents of the borough, it seems every time Braintree Council agree for houses to be built, the only people that benefit are Londoners selling their higher priced houses.
Affordable housing just keeps Braintree house prices low, bet you don't hear much talk of affordable housing in places like Brentwood, Shenfield etc etc, Basildon, Grays, Tilbury - yes.....think you get the picture. Lets not become the new Harlow / Basildon!
