More officers should be out on the beat as Essex Police make a dramatic U-turn in its policing shake up, it has been claimed.

The major changes could mean bigger teams of neighbourhood officers on the streets to target lower level incidents.

The U-turn comes just seven months after a radical shake up in Essex Police.

Great we will get more bobbys esp in Witham but wonder how much tax payers money has been wasted by these changes and the subsequent U turn only to follow a policy which is bleeding obvious to everyone!

Yes but doesnt take a genius to know less bobby's would not work in the first place. Glad they will be increasing numbers but think of the money wasted on the original policy which have been better spent on retaining the officers in the first place not reducing them !
