Car enthusiasts gathered from across the country to take on a ‘Groundforce’ challenge for a seriously ill little girl.

Members of the T5D5 high performance Volvo club arrived from as far as Manchester and Swansea as a surprise for the Sayers family, of Shires Close, Great Notley.

About 16 volunteers helped to convert the garden in just 48 hours with decking, new plants and a summer house, so that 10-year-old Anna, who has pseudo-obstruction, can use her wheelchair outside.

The club had previously help to raise money for a bright bubblegum pink wheelchair for the youngster, who is unable to eat and has to be fed intravenously.

She described the new garden as “awesome” and is looking forward to being able to go outside with her sisters Fern, 8, and Emily, 12.
