Braintree district: Parking fines total £120,000

Drivers were handed more than 3,600 parking tickets
Braintree Council received £120,000 in parking fines in a year. The figure, collected in 2011/12, was lower than Colchester Council, which raked in more than £600,000 and Tendring, which took £200,000.
A total of 3,636 tickets were handed out in Braintree, compared to 19,257 in Colchester and 7,273 across Tendring. However, nearly 17 per cent remain unpaid in Braintree.
North Essex Parking Partnership looks after enforcement and parking provision in all three districts.
