A mum-of-three who battled breast cancer kicked off the 10k Race for Life.

Caroline Grogan, of Yare Avenue, Witham, made a moving speech to around 5,500 runners in Hylands Park, Chelmsford, last Sunday.

The 35-year-old was diagnosed with breast cancer in June last year and underwent surgery and reconstruction, followed by two months of chemotherapy and radiotherapy.

Mrs Grogan said: “The speech was just a little bit about my story, and to urge everyone to hand in their sponsorship money.”

I know someone in Witham who is a mother of four and a breast cancer survivor and I am so proud to be her friend.. (Well, for that but many other reasons, too). Well done to all you ladies - I will be wearing with pride my pink ribbon next month (NBCAM) to recognize her achievement and that of so many others!

Save the Ta-Tas!!! (BTW - that is real: http://www.savetheta
