Braintree: MP highlights importance of police commissioner elections Braintree: MP highlights importance of police commissioner elections

Braintree MP Brooks Newmark has been highlighting the importance of the police and crime commissioner elections.

Mr Newmark and his team spent a morning campaigning in Braintree’s town centre with MEP Vicky Ford and Nick Alston, the conservative candidate for Essex.

Mr Newmark said: “The purpose of the morning's campaigning was to let local people know what a police and crime commissioner can do for them, which is to give local people a direct say into what they want to see the police prioritise for us.”

A bonkers idea by a bonkers government. This is "the bonfire of quangos" in action. Any further stupid plans to waste taxpayers money?

What a waste of money
We have been well served by the present system
if it aint broke don't fixit
Just another scare brained idea from a Government lacking meaningful plans to get this country working and back on its feet again.
They have totally ruined the recovery started by the outgoing Labour Government just to remind you we were not in recession when Labour left office

I saw no sign of an emerging recovery, not that I am saying this Government is any better than any other - they are all as bad as each other and I have voted red and blue in the past - doesn't make a jot of difference - they are all only looking out for themselves.
