A retired solicitor is competing in a world duathlon competition to raise money in memory of his son-in-law.

Maurice Young, 78, of Acorn Avenue, Braintree, is taking part in the 75-80 age group of the World Duathlon Championships, being held in Nancy, France, on Sunday.

Mr Young’s son-in-law Nigel Legg passed away in June from a malignant, fast-growing astrocytic brain tumour, leaving behind Mr Young’s daughter Juliet, 44, and their sons Michael, 17, and Jamie, 12.
