Braintree: MP vows to keep tweeting after losing Government position
Braintree's MP says he would be “surprised” if his use of Twitter was the reason he lost his job as a Government whip.
Brooks Newmark had served as a Conservative party whip since 2007, and had been a Government whip since 2010.

Mr Newmark said: “The Chief Whip did not like me tweeting at all, which is why I stopped for a year.
“I did what he asked, so I’d be surprised if he had held a grudge about it for a whole year. I didn’t tweet anything that was extraordinary.”
