The owner of an equestrian venue will appeal against a decision to refuse permission to hold amateur meetings at the site.

Sharon Peters wants to host amateur horse riding meetings at the Oast House, Codham Little Park, in Beazley End.

Riders are desperate for a venue in the Braintree area to replace the Towerlands Centre, but Braintree Council has refused a planning application for a second time.

Use of the existing equestrian facility is currently restricted to personal use only, and cannot be used for competition.

The council is horrible and I hope this lady succeeds essex is a rural area - stop our roads looking like car parks and encourage rural acitvities such as this council should be appaled at itself

The council should be disgraced with itself.So much for supporting small business enterprise! Stuck in the dark ages! I hope this lady gets the permissions she needs and people in the area get a facility.No wonder kids of this country are obese when any leisure activity is stopped in favour of concreting over areas for housing!
