Braintree: Mother's concerns after pet was bitten by dog off the lead Braintree: Mother's concerns after pet was bitten by dog off the lead

A mother whose dog was attacked by a German Shepherd said she feels let down by the police’s initial response.

Joanne Whalley, of The Waterings, Braintree, was walking her West Highland White Terrier in a park near to Braintree Railway Station with her two children when another dog attacked him last Monday, at about 4.45pm.

Miss Whalley said her 11-year-old son James was “hysterical” when pet Willis was bitten by the dog, which was off the lead.

She also feared for her daughter Alicia, 2, who was in her buggy at the time.

Well I'm not going to buy the paper to find out what was so bad about the police's initial response or indeed what that response actually was. Seems daft to print half a story though. Does anyone know (or care?)

I think your comment says more about you than me. I was merely wondering why the paper gave us half a story (and obviously not the most interesting half). No, won't buy the paper thanks "buddy".
