Braintree: Good Samaritan rescues stranded couple
A good samaritan came to the aid of an elderly couple after their mobility scooter fell in to a busy road.
Margaret and Gordon Nash, 83, want to thank the motorist who plucked Mr Nash to safety after his scooter veered off the pavement and got wedged at the side of Hedingham Road, Gosfield on Thursday night.
Mrs Nash, 81 of Halstead Road, said the couple had just been dropped off from a coach trip when the accident happened.
She said: “It was pitch black, the cars were coming round the corner very fast and the glare from a car’s headlights startled my husband.
“The next thing I knew he had veered off the pavement and his mobility scooter was stuck at an angle at the side of the road."
