New parents will be offered discounted counselling support as part of a national pilot project.

Braintree district is one of three in Essex to be chosen for the Government-backed support service, The 3 of Us.

It follows evidence that 61% of couples experience relationship difficulties after having a baby.

First-time parents will be offered 60 per cent off the full price of couple support sessions provided by charity Relate.

I suspect there are a lot of people who could do with some guidance on parenting but it won't be those people who sign up. This isn't going to be a free service, just discounted, so not appealing to many.
