Drivers have experienced delays on the northbound A12 after a three-vehicle accident this afternoon.

Ambulance services were called to the scene of the accident, on the northbound carriageway between Kelvedon North and Marks Tey, at 2.50pm.

Emergency services attended the scene, and motorists were advised to avoid the area.

The three vehicles involved were a blue Mercedes, a silver Renault Megane and a white Vauxhall Astra.

An ambulance spokesman confirmed they were called to the scene, but there were no injuries and they were not required.

The road re-opened shortly before 3.30pm, but traffic was queuing as far as Witham South at the start of the evening rush hour.
