Witham: Crash blocks road outside nursery school
A crash outside a nursery school caused problems for parents trying to drop their children off.
The two-vehicle accident happened outside Puddleducks Nursery, in Conrad Road, Witham, at about 7.30am today.
A police spokesman said: “We were called just after 7.30am following a two-vehicle accident involving a blue Audi and a silver Vauxhall Vectra.”
Nobody was believed to be injured in the accident, but it took about an hour for the road to be cleared.
Anthony Parsloe, who works at Puddleducks, said: “Cars park on the corners around here and drivers can’t see. I think the two cars side-swiped each other.
“There was obviously a bit of damage as it’s a 30mph zone and there was a lot of debris all over the road.
“It’s caused parents quite a few problems and people had to turn around and use another route.”

someone does needs to monitor the cars parked there - school drop off and pick up- but this happened at 0730 before anyone started to arrive so i guess it has to be put down to driver error - rather than addittional hazards
