Braintree district: Fire engines tackle huge field fire
A field fire that raged on for more than two hours is thought to have been started deliberately.
Firefighters from Witham and Halstead were called to tackle the huge fire in Copford, Colchester.
Three fields and hedgerows at Mascotts Farm, School Road, caught alight at 3.30pm, according to a Essex County Fire and Rescue Service spokesman.
It was put out by 5.40pm, and is thought to have been started deliberately.
A total of ten fire engines from Colchester, Tiptree, Witham, Pinzgauer, Manningtree, Halstead, Wickford and Basildon were called to the incident.
