Two children have been injured in a crash on the A12 near Hatfield Peverel.

A boy and girl received minor injuries and were taken to Broomfield Hospital, along with a man.

The crash happened at about 1.30pm when a green Toyota corolla, silver Vauxhall Astra and lorry struck each other on the northbound carriageway, between junction 19 and 20, Boreham to Hatfield Peverel.

Two ambulances, a rapid response car, a duty manager and the Essex Air Ambulance attended the scene, along with Essex Police and three fire engines.

Ambulance service spokesman Gary Sanderson said: "The man, girl and a boy received minor injuries. They have been taken to Broomfield Hospital for further assessments."
