Braintree: Software shows how binge drinking ages you
1:25pm Saturday 8th September 2012 in News
The impact binge-drinking can have your looks is being showcased by a Braintree-based charity.
alcoHELP has launched the ‘Change My Face’ Drinking Time Machine, where people can upload a picture of themselves to see what they would look like after years of alcohol abuse.
The charity plans to use the new software, developed by forensic artist Auriole Prince, when it visits schoolchildren in the Braintree area this year to discourage them from binge drinking. It shows what you could look like in ten years if you drink 40 units - or four bottles of wine - a week.
Councillor Stephen Canning gave his permission for the Braintree and Witham Times to submit his picture to the alcoHELP website.
The councillor, in the Bocking Blackwater ward, said of his aged picture: "The picture of me clearly shows the disastrous effects of binge drinking."
