Braintree: Skatebowl open but no plans for cameras
There are no plans to install a fence or CCTV at a skatebowl where a car was torched.
The Volkswagen Polo was set alight in the skatebowl, off Meadowside, at 3am on Tuesday morning.
The skatepark, which had only opened two weeks earlier, was closed for of Tuesday and re-opened at 4.30pm.
Following the fire calls were made for a fence and cameras to be put up at the site.
A Braintree Council said: "The bowl has been damaged but not to a condition where we would have to close the facility.
"We are liaising with the manufacturer to arrange for an urgent inspection and repairs as required.
"It is too early to say how much the cost of the repair will be.
"We currently we have no plans to provide fencing or CCTV."
