Braintree: New venue and production for musical society
Braintree Musical Society is looking ahead to bigger and better things after moving to a new venue.
Having performed at the Braintree Institute for the last 61 years, the group are relocating to the Braintree Arts Theatre, in Notley Road.
Commitee member Lesley Bowles said: “We needed to upgrade our facilities for our audiences, so come along and enjoy this purpose built theatre.
“The committee would like to take this opportunity to thank Braintree District Council for their help over the years.”
The society’s next production will be of the much-loved Rodgers and Hammerstein classic Carousel, which will be performed from Tuesday, October 16, until Saturday, October 20, starting at 7.30pm each night.
There will also be a Saturday matinee performance at 2.30pm.
Tickets are £11 for adults and £8 for concessions, which includes OAPs, full-time students and groups of ten or more.
