Braintree: Father slams "no service" bus
A father has slammed a “ridiculous” bus service which drives through his village but will not stop to pick up his son.
Colin Bennett, 65, of Grove Villas, Great Saling has been asking for the number nine and 16 services to collect passengers in the village since December last year.
His 16-year-old son Chege now faces the prospect of cycling four miles to Great Bardfield, where the bus comes into service, to be able to attend his new course at The College at Braintree .
But as Chege is still recovering from renal failure and suffers dizzy spells Mr Bennett feels this trip is too dangerous on such a fast road.
He said: “I think it is ridiculous, why can’t the bus come into service as soon as it leaves the depot, it doesn’t cost them anything."

Service 16 is now operated by Hedingham so I guess will run out from Sible Hedingham and not pass through Gt Saling.
