A report into the management of a building which cost taxpayers more than £550,000 while empty is being reconsidered.

The findings of Braintree Council ’s Overview and Scrutiny Panel into the management of general property and land investment policies, including Mayland House in Witham, were set to be discussed at full council on July 30.

But an informal discussion between party leaders concluded that more work was needed as the office block was agreed to be fully let on July 16, five days after the task and finish group presented its findings to the panel.
