Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman was assaulted in the early hours of Sunday. 

The 43-year-old Braintree woman suffered head injuries and grazes when she was pushed to the floor at 3.10am in Fairfield Road, Braintree. 

A 28-year-old Chelmsford man has been arrested on suspicion of assault and bailed.

I have nothing to help with this query but have to say I always wonder what females.....or males for that matter,.are doing wandering the streets at 3am

She probably knew him. Perhaps they had a row and a fight broke out. Wouldn't think there would be many other people around to witness it though.
