Witham: Maltings Lane plans 'don't consider crime and nuisance'
10:00am Thursday 30th August 2012 in News
A new church should be moved away from sports pitches - to stop footballers disturbing prayers.
Developers plan to build a place of worship on the Maltings Lane estate, Witham, close to football pitches and basketball and tennis courts.
But Essex Police has objected to the location of the church, shops and community buildings in the masterplan for the final stages of the estate.
It said the developers did not take into consideration nuisance, anti-social behaviour and crime.
Residents have until tomorrow to comment on the masterplan before Braintree Council makes a final decision.
