This centenarian with Royal connections has no plans for slowing down.

Cecilia Duhy, known as Cis, was a tailoress from the ages of 14 to 60, spending many of those years working in Savile Row, where her clients included the Royal family.

Mrs Duhy, who lives at The Hawthorns retirement complex in Tortoiseshell Way, Braintree, said: “I’ve made many a pair of trousers which would have ended up at Buckingham Palace.

“Who knows, King George V may have worn trousers stitched by my own fair hands.”

She celebrates her 100th birthday today.
