Sally Bishop Sally Bishop

A grandmother who has devoted 21 years to helping disabled children is to carry the Paralympic torch.

Sally Bishop, from Cressing, is the founder of Action for Kids, a national charity that started when she raised money for a young boy who needed a wheelchair the NHS could not provide.

Mrs Bishop, 64, was nominated to be a Paralympic torchbearer through the Lloyds TSB public nomination campaign.

She will take part in the 24-hour torch relay from Stoke Mandeville, the home of the Paralympics, to London, which starts on Tuesday.
