Braintree: Wartime land worker celebrates 100th birthday
A wartime land worker has celebrated her 100th birthday.
Florence Hardy, of Finchingfield, turned 100 on August 7 and was thrown a surprise party by her family and friends.
The great-grandmother said: “It was the most wonderful day of my life.”
Mrs Hardy, mother to Robin, 65, and Neil, 61, also received a telegram from the Queen, which she said was “marvellous”.
