An archer has lost out on his 2012 paralympic dream because of a malfunction with his equipment.

Robert Shaw, of Helen Court, Witham, competed in the qualifier for the Paralympic Games on June 24.

But a malfunction in the equipment he was using led to the 51-year-old losing three arrows.

He is now focusing on succeeding at the Rio de Janeiro Paralympic Games qualifier in 2014.
