Braintree: Lawnmower racers seeking thrills
While most people are content to use their landmowers to cut grass, a group of thrill seeking racers will be testing their machines to the limit.
The annual Lawnmower Racing Championships will be held over the Bank Holiday weekend at Blake House Craft Centre in Blake End.
Professional drivers will be racing lawnmowers around the track as fast as they can go, reaching unbelievable speeds.
The Lawnmower Racing Championships take place on August 25, 26 and 27, with practise laps from 10am and racing between 1pm and 5pm.
Entry is £2 for adults and £1 for children, with money raised going towards the Essex Air Ambulance.
