A driver was taken to hospital and commuters delayed by more than an hour after a crash on the A12.
 

Essex Police said a blue Ford Fiesta Zetec crashed into a barrier at Rivenhall End, on the northbound side opposite the Essex County Fire and Rescue Service headquarters, just after 6am today.

The male driver, who was alone in the car, suffered serious cuts to his head but they were not believed to be life threatening.
 

He was taken to Colchester General Hospital.
A road block was put in place and cars were diverted off the A12.
 

There were delays for drivers on the A12 and the B1024 through Kelvedon.

As they've used a photo, it would have been nice if they'd actually used one of the Rivenhall End area - anyone any idea where the photo used was taken??
