Braintree: Mum's lost purse returned by stranger Braintree: Mum's lost purse returned by stranger

A mum's faith in humanity has been restored after a stranger returned her purse containing priceless photos of her late nephew.

Jane Edwards, 44, was devastated after returning home from shopping at Tesco, Market Square, Braintree to find she had lost her wallet.

She returned to the store to search for it, but decided to cancel her cards and contact police when it didn’t turn up.

Ms Edwards who lives on the Goldingham Estate, said: “A few hours after cancelling my cards staff at Tesco telephoned to say a gentleman had handed it in.

“I went back to the store and was so happy to find it still had my photographs in it, my cards and £10 cash I had taken out at the bank.

“The photographs were of my nephew who died nine years ago, I would have been devastated to lose them."

So pleased to read good news for a change. Just proves there are some nice honest people about.

Why is it that people always say that their faith in humanity has been restored? You read it in the Good Deed Feed in the Metro all the time. Do most people out there genuinely go around thinking that everyone is evil?

There sure is some nice honest people about. Hubby lost his wallet yesterday evening and came home thinking he left it there then went back to tesco to see if anyone had handed it in, and they had with everything inside including ten pounds in the little corner of the wallet. We were so grateful for whoever handed it in as i was on the verge of cancelling his debit card and also applying for a replacement driving licence.
