Two families, who continue to suffer the devastating consequences of a crash two years ago, are facing a £300,000 High Court battle.

Yvonne Townley is demanding damages after her son Graham, ten, was left disabled following a collision near an ice cream van with a Mitsubishi 4x4 in Church Street, Witham, on June 25, 2010.

He underwent a ten-hour operation on his shattered foot and spent five weeks in hospital.

Two years on, he still requires crutches or a wheelchair when he goes out.

Mrs Townley declined to comment on the case.

Pregnant driver Tina Ellis, 42, who lost her baby following the accident, disputes the claims made against her and has for the first time spoken about how the accident affected her.
