The A120 is blocked in both directions between Bradwell and Coggeshall following an accident involving a tractor and a van.

Police expect the road to be closed until later this evening and are currently arranging diversions.

Motorists are being advised to use alternative routes to avoid delays.

The accident took place on the A120 heading out of Braintree, just prior to the Coggeshall turning. at about 3.15pm.

The two vehicles involved were a white DAF van and a green and yellow John Deere tractor.

An Essex Police spokesman said: "There are three people who have suffered slight injuries.

"It could be some time before the vehicles are removed and the road is re-opened.

"Police are currently trying to sort out diversions."

An East of England Ambulance spokesman said the injured people did not need to go to hospital.
