Braintree: Woman breaks leg in unprovoked attack
Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman broke her leg in an unprovoked attack.
A Braintree woman, aged in her forties, was assaulted by a group of women unknown to her between 2.30am and 3am on June 9, in Little Square, off Leather Lane, Braintree.
She was knocked to the ground and assaulted while on the floor, resulting in her left leg being broken in two places.
Officers are currently investigating the motive behind the attack on the woman and are examining CCTV footage.
A police spokesman said: "One of the group responsible is described as white, 5ft 2in tall, plump, aged in her 20s, with a piercing below her bottom lip and one in her eyebrow.
"Anyone who saw anything, including any groups of women acting suspiciously is asked to contact police at the Chelmsford Serious Crime Team on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
